My Kitchen Friend ("the app") is operated by The Vine Solutions. This policy explains what information the app collects, why, and who it's shared with.

Information we collect

• Account information: your email address, and a display name and avatar photo if you set one.
• Recipes and pantry data: recipes you add (by PDF, paste, manual entry, or our AI recipe finder), your pantry ingredients and quantities, shopping list, and your baking history and costs.
• Friends: friend requests and connections you make with other bakers, and recipes you share with them.
• Photos: images you upload for recipes, your profile avatar, or the AI recipe finder's "snap a dish" feature.
• Subscription status: whether you have an active premium subscription, verified through Google Play Billing.
• Usage data: basic app usage needed to operate the service (e.g. sign-in timestamps).

How we use it

To run the core features of the app: tracking what you have and what you're missing to bake a recipe, managing your shopping list and pantry costs, letting you share recipes with friends, and (for premium subscribers) finding recipes from a text description, a photo, or your pantry contents.

Who we share it with

• Supabase — hosts our database, authentication, and photo storage.
• Anthropic — powers the AI recipe finder and the avatar photo filter. When you use these features, the relevant text or photo you provide is sent to Anthropic to generate a response; it is not used to train their models.
• Spoonacular — provides the underlying recipe database our AI recipe finder searches against.
• Google Play Billing — processes and verifies premium subscription purchases on Android. We never see or store your payment card details.
• Google AdMob — shows banner ads to free-tier users of the Android app. AdMob may use an advertising ID to personalise ads; you can opt out of ad personalisation in your device settings.

We do not sell your personal information.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. To delete your account and associated data, contact us at the email below.

Children

My Kitchen Friend is not directed at children and is not intended for users under 13.
